I know I've asked this before, but I need some reassurance.

So I'm about to go buy the Steelseries Qck+ XXL tomorrow cause everyone says that it would be best for a deathadder. The last time I asked, I ended up buying a simple cloth mousepad and apparently even 450 dpi felt too sensitive on it and it did not have enough friction. I used it for probably about 20 mins, and went back to my regular plastic coated mousepad.

I am flexible on the price, and if anyone can give me some options as what to buy. I need a mousepad that has some friction so I can have some control, and not be super slippery or too smooth.

I have a deathadder. Price range can vary, but I'd rather not spend more than 25 bucks. The Qck+ XXL is on sale for $12.99 + tax at Canada Computers.

Also, if you guys can tell me what your mouse + mousepad combination is. It would really help me in making a good decision.

One more question. When you guys use your mouse, how much of your arm is on your table? Do you have big tables for your whole arm to rest? Or do you just prefer to have your wrist on the edge of the table and just control the mouse from the edge? Right now, I can only control it from the edge because the deathadder becomes really jittery if I even begin to move up on my mousepad. It causes in game jitter and the sensor does not read properly. I assume it has something to do with how much force is applied, but I would really like to invest in a decent mousepad.

Thanks in advance.

edit: Just checked some prices on the Razer mousepads, and they are within the 20 dollar range as well. Anyone have any experiences with the Goliathus Control Edition? The Sphex is really cheap too. Just need some opinions. ;)

I use Steelseries Qck, they should be great together.
I sometimes prefer it backwards because it heightens the sensitivity when I'm on a vehicle or whatever. I have only my wrist on my desk. Just play around with your settings imo. Buying high-end mice should allow more flexibility with settings with their software and everything. Try different poll ratings, there's a lot of things you could do. Join a public server and play around with it? Everyone has a different setup so I don't think specific suggestions would affect you the same

My friend got the Qck. His gameplay improved quite a bit too. Is there any major difference between the Qck line of mouse pads? Or are they all slightly altered from the original? I'm getting a new computer table too so I want to try and find out how most of you guys play and compare it to the way I do it.

edit: The qck is for $9.99 and the qck+ is for $12.99. I have my eyes set on these 2. Any major differences?

It's the only gaming pad I've had so I can only compare it to regular pads. Just read the reviews on it with amazon/newegg(they should show you combinations other buyers used, with pads+mice. Find the one with your mouse and see what mousepad other buyers bought). Steelseries is recommended all around the gaming community so I bought it and it was exactly what I expected.

They have a chart in the middle of the page which shows the ratings for Qck and Qck+

Oh. Well the general opinion from people who play halo is to get a qck or a qck+. I'm gonna have to do some online hunting then. If you could compare the qck to a regular cloth mouse pad, what would the difference be? I bought a standard cloth pad and it was really slippery with barely any friction. Does the qck line of pads have friction? I just need a decent amount of friction; not too much, and not too little.

I have my drivers set at 450 dpi (5 on the sensitivity bar) and 1-1 in game as advised. This mousepad that I currently have keeps having its phases where one day it feels really good and I my mouse is just like how I want it to be. And other days where it feels like 1000 dpi when it's set to 450. It could be in my head, but I want something that remains fairly consistent. I have this mousepad taped down lol. It keeps moving otherwise.

Naota- What are your mouse settings? Does it have some friction?

I don't know if I'd like extra friction if the speed edition does provide more friction than a standard plastic coated mousepad (I think it should have a bit more judging by the reviews). There is a difference in price though between it, and the qck or qck+. I'll just have to touch the textures to see when I reach the store today.

Thanks for your opinions guys.

Haha. Good mouse? xD

Btw, I just checked and there isn't a huge difference between the Razer Goliathus Omega S Speed Edition and the Qck and Qck+. So it's coming down to these 3. I'm about to leave in a bit, so looking for last minute opinions lol. I'll probably finalize my decision once I actually touch each of their surfaces.

I'd recommend the qck heavy over the qck+. it's the same just a lot thicker. If you get the goliathus try and get the alpha version, it's a lot bigger than the omega.. very useful if you play with low sens.

Well only the Omega S speed edition was in my price range, and I ended up just getting the qck. All the other Razer mousepads there were $32.99 or so, except for the Sphex which didn't really look like what I needed. The control edition of the goliathus was a bit cheaper at $18.99 or somewhere around that, but the surface was not what I was looking for. The qck heavy was also $32.99 and since this was my first time getting one of these, I wanted something cheaper to try out. So far is seems good with decent friction. The speed edition was nice, but like you said Esco, the Omega S was too small.

My old mousepad's plastic coating wore out on the top and it became really slippery. There was just one position where my mouse would have no problem sensing, but all other styles that worked around the palm grip were causing issues for the mouse to sense properly. I don't claw grip so I had to replace it.

This one is looking good so far, but I'll try it out in a pub or whatnot once I get my new computer table. Thanks for the help guys. :)

When I started playing halo again last year (after a one year break), I had a ball mouse + worn out computer table. Then it was a wireless mouse + worn out computer table. Then it was a deathadder + simple little foam with plastic coating kitty cat mouse pad. Now the qck is very smooth and I'm loving it. :)
